Teachers Workshops

“Why should the students have all the fun?”

Our workshops focussed solely on teachers are designed to inspire and motivate in sessions filled with exciting ideas, practical tips, exercises and choreography. Taught by our most experienced faculty, passionate about sharing their knowledge of teaching tap dance, you can expect to go back to your students newly invigorated with a host of fresh methods, combinations and tips to help with technique . . . We aim to complement your existing training in your school with ideas to help all levels of student from the youngest to most advanced. Teachers travel from all over the UK and Europe to attend and mixing with other teachers in our open and friendly environment, creating a new network of support, is an outcome highly valued by our previous participants. We welcome specific content requests whether that be choreography, history of tap or a focus on particular steps or general technical problems.

Our workshops have been devised for teachers of all levels; whether in training, newly qualified, or very experienced, and we look forward to welcoming one and all.

Thank you so much for a brilliant day!
Looking forward to the new academic year!
Great to have some fresh ideas and ways of thinking about things!

knowledge is immense. I end up scribbling notes like a maniac, especially with regards to music ideas and how to adapt and mix up exercises. It always gives the boost needed and sparks ideas and creativity. Questions are encouraged and I feel very supported by both the Tap Attack Team and other teachers. Would highly recommend. Why should the students get all the fun?!?

I attended the Tap Attack teachers workshop for the first time in Aug 2020 after being unable to attend the previous few years. Although I was sad due to COVID that we were unable to attend this in person, Tap Attack had changed their plans to hold the workshops via zoom over 3 mornings, which actually as a mum of 2 worked out perfectly during the summer holidays whilst still in semi lock-down. We were taught by Jo, Alison and Ollie, who are all amazingly experienced teachers/examiners. They put everyone at ease as soon as the workshops began each day, and although you were on your own taking the workshop, it still had a really wonderful, relaxed atmosphere, with great humour throughout. They each delivered really high quality drills, technical exercises, sequences along with expert tips for all types of students. Each day I left completely inspired and wanted to get teaching so much wonderful content to my students. I have been able to use almost everything we learnt during this workshop over the past 6 months, and it has really helped to inspire children as young as 7 right through to the adults I teaching more non-syllabus classes and developing each and every students tap skills so they can become the best tap dancer they are able to. Thank you so much to everyone involved at Tap Attack, I cannot wait to attend future workshops both on zoom and hopefully in person too in the future. Erica (2020)
