Tap Attack Associates

All around there are associate programmes for ballet, programmes for jazz and programmes for contemporary – so why not tap? This is the premise from which Tap Attack Associates was formed in 2011.

Starting with just a handful of associate members, our program has flourished under the guidance of Creative Director, Jo Scanlan, and now offers nearly 300 dancers nationwide the best possible tap dance training . . . Our associate programmes follow a carefully structured curriculum to ensure continuity across each age group and location, and to help each dancer reach their full potential during their time with us. Our students benefit from the stability of a regular teacher as well as classes with other members of our esteemed faculty and inspiring international guest teachers. We like to integrate our Associates and Company members from a training and social perspective wherever possible, and also offer exciting opportunities to perform together. There is no greater sound or spectacle than every member of Tap Attack coming together in the roof-raising finale of our annual dinner dance.

Many of our associates have advanced to the Tap Attack Company and we also offer every dancer the opportunity to audition for Team GB to compete in the IDO World Tap Dance Championships.

With 4 training centres in the North, Midlands, South East and South West, and covering age groups from age 8 to adults, we feel extremely proud to impart our expertise and inspire so many others who share our love of tap.

Our associate groups are currently split into 4 age ranges:

Mini Associates 8 -11 years old (South West only)

Junior Associates 8-11 years old (South West only)

Mid Associates 11-14/15 years old

Senior Associates 15/16+ years old

(Dancers can be moved up or down age groups according to ability.)

Entry into each program is by audition only. Further details of our Associate auditions can be found here.
