Top dancer Zoe has just got to win competition!
A Humberston dancer is seeing stars after being told by Hollywood heartthrob Adam Garcia she has reached the live semi-finals of a national talent competition.
As reported, former Caistor Grammer School pupil Zoe Pembroke is part of the 24-strong group Tap Attack on Sky 1's Got To Dance.
The 21-year-old – who is currently studying musical theatre in London – was delighted when her group was chosen as one of just 28 semi finalists from the 5,000 who auditioned, hoping to be crowned Britain and Irelands's best dance act.
They were judged by Coyote Ugly actor and tap dancer Garcia, The Pussycat Dolls' Kimberly Wyatt and Britain's Got Talent winner Ashley Banjo of dance act Diversity.
The three awarded them gold stars at their initial audition before Adam Garcia paid them a personal visit to tell them the good news at a recent rehearsal.
Zoe said: "All the girls and mums fancy him! He said we need to up our level for the next part of the competition.
"We all had our photograph taken with him and we get to meet all the judges properly at a VIP party soon.
"Kimberly also gave us very good feedback, she said we excited her.
"I'm a Pussycat Dolls fan, everyone is interested in Kimberly."
Tap Attack are under the direction of Swindon Tap choreographer and performer and world-record-breaker Jo Scanlan – who founded the group in 2006 and is recognised by many as one of the country's leading tap specialists. She has taught, choreographed and performed all over the world including on Broadway.
Zoe said: "Being selected from the 5,000 who auditioned is a massive achievement in itself, but we really need the support of the people of Grimsby to help us make the final.
"This series the cost of voting has been dropped to just 5p so I hope if people like us they'll pick up the phone and vote on more than one occasion."
Zoe and her group will find out if they are through to the live final on Sunday as the show hosts a public vote.
"If Tap Attack are chosen, they will be one of only eight competing for the grand prize of £250,000.
Zoe said: "The money will go towards a new studio and we will also get something individually. My friends and family are really excited we have got this far."
Got To Dance is presented by former Big Brother presenter Davina McCall and is on Sky1 and Sky1 HD on Sundays at 6pm.
