England Tap Team Triumphs at the World Tap Championships
The Tap Attack England Tap have recently returned to the UK having achieved unparalleled success at the 2010 IDO
World Tap Championships.
The team which consisted of 28 dancers who were selected from across the country after three rounds of countrywide auditions competed at the championships, held in Riesa, Germany from 30th November – 4th December 2010.
This is the third, and to date most successful year, that England has been represented at the Championships which is organised by the International Dance Organisation.
Head coach and Guinness World Record Breaker, Jo Scanlan commented “After four months of preparations the Tap Attack England Team achieved excellent results, including being ranked world champions in two categories, as well as runners up in the prestigious adult formation categories, just one point behind eventual world champions USA”.
The teams success resulted in a record 42 medals and 11 trophies with highlights including: Juniors (Junior Small Groups), Gold – Keith Henderson + Jack Evans (Adult Duos), Silver – Zac Watts (Junior Male solos), silver – Adult Formation (Adult Formations), silver – Adult small group boys (Adult Small Groups), bronze – Adina Nyahwa + Zac Watts (Adult Duos), Bronze – Lauren Gore (Adult Female solos).
